A bit of background: For years, the main new products announcements for the year from European model railroad manufacturers were made at the German Toyfair in late January. Held in Nuremberg in the south of Germany, the Toy Fair or' Speilwarrenmesse' was a large industry event where dealers would gather to see all the new products and place thier orders for the year ahead. The internet, social media and most recently the pandemic have led to the announcements appearing online earlier and earlier each year as each brand tries to grab the spotlight with their new products.
More and more pre-ordering these products is important as many items are being produced in limited runs and the production runs often sell out very quickly once announced. Pre-ordering also gives you a chance to get the items at the lowest possible price as many manufacturers provide discount prices we can pass along on these products.
